Do you want to become a hairdresser or barber? Maybe you’re already working in a salon but want to improve your cutting or colouring skills? NHTA apprenticeships give you the chance to get employment, earn a wage and receive good quality support and training. Our courses are designed around you and the needs of the salon or barbershop.

As everybody’s different, we have flexible training to make sure you reach your full potential. Your qualifications will be delivered within the salon, where you could be based full-time or at our academy with monthly visits to the salon, or a mixture of the two. Called work-based training, you will also be expected to do 6 hours a week of Off the Job training too, which includes activities like shadowing a salon professional to help you to learn important skills.

NHTA is passionate about the power of good quality hairdressing and barbering qualifications. We want to help you transform into future salon professionals. Our courses are fun and delivered as 1-2-1 sessions, group workshops and online learning. If you haven’t already found a salon or barbershop to work in, we can help you find an apprenticeship with a local employer. And with government funding, your training won’t cost you a penny.
